Water containing calcium is a growing problem for water pipes, dishwashers, water heaters and washing machines. A softener is the most common method used to remove calcium and magnesium ions, also known as hard water.
The process of ion exchange technology take place by passing the water through a filter containing ion exchange resin which attracts the calcium and magnesium ions and replaces them with salt. When the resin is saturated with lime, the regeneration sequence starts on the softener. The actual leaching of calcium and magnesium takes place during backwashing. We supply softeners in cabinet (Flamingo / Swan), Duobloc and duplex.
The ion exchange technology is also used when removing iron, manganese, H2S, lime, correction of pH and color, but by using the filter medium Crystal Right. Read more about Chrystal Right here.
